Each month or two the Public Forum and Lincoln-Douglas teams are given new topics to research, build cases around, and then debate.  The Lincoln Douglas debates are 1v1, so they have two months to work a single topic.  The Public Forum teams receive a new topic each month, assuming there are two teammates, so they should be able to knock it out quicker!  

And Policy debate works on the same topic for an entire school year! (Can you say, intense?!)

Policy Debate 2013-2014 Topic:

Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its economic engagement toward Cuba, Mexico or Venezuela.

Lincoln-Douglas November/December:

Resolved: In the United States criminal justice system, truth-seeking ought to take precedence over attorney-client privilege.

Public Forum November:

Resolved: The benefits of domestic surveillance by the NSA outweigh the harms.
